Ingredients
- 4 cup (100g) soaked basmati rice
- 4 cup (50ml) full cream milk
- 2 cup (175g) condensed milk
- 1/3 cup (35g) sugar
- 1 pinch saffron
- rose petals, for garnish
- silver leaf, for garnish
- mixed nuts, for garnish
Preparation
- Place soaked rice in the Anyday Medium Deep Dish. Pour milk along with 100ml water. Cover with the lid (knob lifted) and cook in the microwave for 9 minutes, or until the rice is mushy.
- Add condensed milk, sugar, saffron and cook again for 4 minutes. Remove from the microwave and lightly whisk till the rice has a porridge-like consistency.
- Garnish with rose petals, silver leaf and chopped mixed nuts. You can serve the kheer hot, warm, or chilled.
Serving suggestions & tips
- You can replace the long-grain basmati rice with short-grain rice to make your kheer extra creamy.
