Ingredients

  • 4 cup (100g) soaked basmati rice
  • 4 cup (50ml) full cream milk
  • 2 cup (175g) condensed milk
  • 1/3 cup (35g) sugar
  • 1 pinch saffron
  • rose petals, for garnish
  • silver leaf, for garnish
  • mixed nuts, for garnish

Preparation

  1. Place soaked rice in the Anyday Medium Deep Dish. Pour milk along with 100ml water. Cover with the lid (knob lifted) and cook in the microwave for 9 minutes, or until the rice is mushy.
  2. Add condensed milk, sugar, saffron and cook again for 4 minutes. Remove from the microwave and lightly whisk till the rice has a porridge-like consistency.
  3. Garnish with rose petals, silver leaf and chopped mixed nuts. You can serve the kheer hot, warm, or chilled.


Serving suggestions & tips

  • You can replace the long-grain basmati rice with short-grain rice to make your kheer extra creamy.
